Course Objectives: Pressure ulcers are a very emotional issue for families and health care providers. They are often seen as an indicator of poor care, abuse, neglect or even mistreatment. There is an increased risk of morbidity associated with pressure ulcers and a definite increase in cost for health care. This in-service is designed to familiarize the learner with the concept of pressure ulcers and preventive strategies.
